History

Trend Trophies was founded in 1968 by Kevin Dolan. Kevin a National Cycling Champion and a joiner by trade was approached by a local trophy shop to manufacture shields as his usual supplier had let him down. Operating originally from his parents garage he moved the business to a newly constructed workshop alongside his own home in 1971. The business continued to grow steadily though out the 70s and Trend was the first company in Ireland to offer its customers a Trophy Catalogue with its two page black and white brochure in 1979.

The 1980's were an exciting time for the company with continued expansion including expansion in the UK with a number of joint ventures. December 17th 1992 was one of the darkest days for the business when a fire completely destroyed the factory along with all the plant, stock and equipment. Kevin never being a man to shy away from a challenge quickly set about building the company once again. A new factory was constructed adjacent to the site of the original premises and new equipment purchased to avail of the recently de-regulated European Market. The export side of the business continued to grow steadily and with customers spread throughout Europe.

The new millennium has continued to be a time of change for Trend. Kevin retired in 2003 and sold his business interests in the UK. Trend continues to be a family run company with Kevin's son Karl now at the head of affairs. The wood manufacturing plant was closed in 2006 to make room for additional warehousing. The range of products has continued to grow and the company now stock in excess of 3,000 different products including a comprehensive range of Cuchulainn Crystal and Swatkins Silverware.
